About Me
I have been a proud resident of the East Penn School District since 2003, where I currently live with my husband, Mike, and two children, Jason and Anna. Both kids are college students—Jason will graduate this year from Penn State, and Anna is a freshman at Millersville. I loved the experience my kids had attending East Penn schools. I want to do my best to ensure that future children and families can have that same positive experience that we enjoyed; a high-quality education with talented, caring teachers and robust resources, in safe and welcoming learning environments.
Education has always been a core pillar of my personal values and the focus of my life’s work. I care passionately about uplifting others through education and advocating for students to have the opportunities that help them learn and grow so they can thrive as individuals, citizens, and productive, happy humans.
These principles have motivated me to work in Higher Education for the past 30 years in varying roles in Student Affairs. My current work is at Kutztown University as the Director for the Women’s Center and the LGBTQ+ Resource Center. In this role, I work closely with students as a supervisor and mentor, coordinate educational events, and engage in campus strategic initiatives, including two terms on University Senate. It is also my privilege to serve and support students in need–whether by advocating for survivors of sexual assault, offering a listening ear to those seeking support, or connecting students with valuable community resources.
Beyond my career, I grew up in PA and have attended both public and private schools. I was fortunate to have supportive, inspiring teachers who encouraged me to attend a public university as a first-generation college student. I earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Masters of Education in Counseling from Millersville University.
I’m excited and ready to give back to the community that has given so much to my family. If elected to the East Penn School Board, I would work hard to provide open communication, responsible decision making on spending, and to advocate for all our students, families, and educators.
